Although bandsaw manufactures are very good at building and putting up bandsaws to your specifications, it is still well advised to go through a check-in-process to fine tune and ensure that they are ready for your mill. 

Hopefully, the answer to that question is “Yes, they are.” A guided saw is a saw operating between two guides. This combination requires good guides, proper clearance and alignment to be effective in its purpose.

Smith Sawmill Service is announcing the acquisition of Precision Saw Works, located in Polkton, NC: founded in 1986 by Frank Curran; they specialize in repair and manufacturing of both band and circle saws. This addition will enhance Smith Sawmill Service’s footprint on the East Coast to better serve our customers.

Our wood industry is experiencing a shortage of strip steel, which is the product used to manufacture both narrow and wide bands. Some sawmills may have already been impacted by delays in shipping.
